The main personal training services I provide are 1:1 personal training and group training. More information about these services, including the packages I offer can be found further down this page.

1:1 Personal Training
Each 1:1 session is a maximum of an hour long but can also be an intense 30 minute session depending on what sort of session is needed for the individual. You will be surprised how much you can get done in the time and is a unique way to train. The sessions are changed each week and tailored to you to ensure you continue to see improvements. I am also able to offer more functional style training sessions, please ask for more details if you are interested.
I offer 4 different packages for my 1:1 personal training, all of which are 4-week plans. You can view details of the 4 different packages below. Please note I am available for personal training sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
1 Session Per Week
- 1 session per week for 4 weeks
- 4 sessions in total
- Works out at £30 per session
2 Sessions Per Week
- 2 sessions per week for 4 weeks
- 8 sessions in total
- Works out at £27.50 per session
3 Sessions Per Week
- 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks
- 12 sessions in total
- Works out at £25 per session
2 People Train Together
If you would prefer for a friend, partner or relative to workout alongside you then this is something I am more than happy to cater for. Like the 1:1 sessions, the sessions are a maximum of 1 hour (or can be an intense 30 minute session) and are a unique way to train with exercises that incorporate both interval & weight training. I am also able to offer more functional style sessions, please ask for more details if you are interested.

Our Personal Trainers
Matty Davies
Matty Davies is a highly experienced personal trainer and retired professional ice hockey player who has competed at the highest levels, including the UK’s Elite league as well as representing Great Britain. With a keen understanding of what it takes to be in peak physical form, he offers a wealth of expertise to any project or collaboration. If you’re looking to partner up or simply gain insights from his extensive journey, Matty is readily available for discussions that align with your schedule and commitments.
Nikki Buttrick
Nikki is a Sport Rehabilitation graduate, ex teacher and coach with a breadth of experience in training and delivering group sessions. Her earlier passions involved figure skating and dance which transferred into weightlifting, nutrition and creating a healthy balanced lifestyle. Nikki loves any workout with a squat clean and specialises in lower body/glute based training. She’ll push you to achieve your goals with a caring touch. If she’s not coaching on the gym floor, she’ll be working behind the scenes at Grafthouse, on hand to support our members.
James Tyas
James has been coaching for 4 years after qualifying during his time in the military and has spent 10+ years training. James specialises in functional fitness programming and particularly loves a strength block. Alongside our other coaches, James coaches sessions, offers 1-1 PT, 1-2 PT and additionally, online coaching. James is a firm believer that fitness is for everyone and likes to look into lifestyle factors including sleep, stress management, recovery and nutrition. Whatever your ability and goal, James is confident he’ll get you there through knowledge and support!
Connor Bower
Connor is a qualified personal trainer, with vast experience of performing in elite set ups across Rugby League. Progressing out of the Hull FC system, before now developing at Sheffield Eagles. Connor has a wide knowledge of what’s required to perform at high standards, and a passion into showcasing this into the functional fitness game.
Graft House Training Facility
Based on Pickering Road in Hull, Graft House Gym is Hull’s largest functional fitness gym. The gym is kitted out with a full range of gym equipment including treadmills, bikes, ski machines, dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, gymnastic rings and much more. In 2023 we became an official Hyrox affiliated gym. No matter what your current fitness levels are or what you goals are, at Graft House we have everything you need to achieve amazing results.
I explained my goals at my first consultation with Matty and now less than 1 year later, I have achieved this plus much more. I cannot stress how much these results were achieved due to Matty, a fantastic Personal Trainer!
I recommend Matty as he is a very good judge on your fitness. He gives you confidence in your own abilities. He has given me the motivation to lose weight with diet tips and exercise tips. I feel the fittest I’ve been since my early 20s.
I started attending 3 of Matty’s boot camp sessions as well as one PT session a week. In a matter of 3 months my whole body has transformed: Toning up, becoming fitter, stronger, losing 21 lbs and becoming the most confident I have ever been with my body.
I have dropped almost 4 stone since I started working with Matty. My upper body, shoulders and legs are the most muscular and defined they have ever been in my entire life. Currently I am able to run a mile and a half in under 14 minutes, can squat 130kg, clean and press 80kg and deadlift 165kg.
